Tournament Director, Kevin Livesey announces the confirmed dates for Wismilak International, set for 9th- 16th September 2007 in Nusa Dua, Bali. The largest women’s tennis tournament in South East Asia promises another successful event after twelve years being held consecutively, climbing the prestigious event within the SE WTA Tour.

“The tournament has worked hard to get where it is today, and maintaining this image and continuously striving to exceed the success achieved by year, is the hardest part of organizing the tournament. With a goal to promote Bali and Indonesia in the eyes of tennis fans and sports enthusiast around the globe, our efforts of inviting world class tennis players to indirectly act as ambassadors for Bali is the approach we have achieved each year. Our tournament has become “a must participate” event amongst international caliber tennis players,” expressed Kevin Livesey. “This year promises yet another successful year, as we prepare to invite and showcase the best of professional women’s tennis on the courts in Nusa Dua” he further added.

This tournament which initially started in Surabaya, from its early tournaments has managed to attract world class players until present. To name a few; former world number one player from USA, Lindsay Davenport (Wismilak International 2005 champion), Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova (2002, 2004 and 2006), Elena Dementieva (2003), and the French Open 2004 winner Anastasia Myskina, Swiss player Patty Schnyder, all of whom have experienced Bali’s sunny weather. In Bali, sports and leisure are perfectly combined as a part of their professional tennis tour activities.

Throughout the year, Wismilak International will be announcing confirmed players as they sign in for the tournament. The tournament will not only showcase professional tennis on the courts in Nusa Dua, but introduce and discover Bali’s charm through various off court activities for the players. For the tennis fans and lovers there are activities from an sms competition with various grand prizes to finally being close and personal with their favorite tennis stars in September for the matches.
