Ganesha Bookshop was established in 1989 as a small family business by Ketut Yuliarsa and his wife Anita Scheeres. Ketut Yuliarsa is a well known writer and actor/musician in Bali and together with Anita had the desire to see a bookshop in Bali that would cater to the needs of all the avid readers, collectors and researchers who passed through Ubud, Bali. They began the bookshop with their own precious collection of books and traded as a second hand outlet.
Over the years the shop grew extensively and now houses a vast second hand books section which includes antiquarian books on Bali and Indonesia. As the shop grew they added lots of new books on Indonesia in the areas of language, literature, cooking, arts and culture. |
